Theme-identity crisis

September 30, 2008

For those of you NOT using a reader.. i apologize.  I am still searching for the right theme in wordpress.  One that fits images well, isn’t too run-of-the-mill.. etc.  Remember, this is tuff for me because of where I came from….

It’s not all my fault.

Can I help it I love images?  And big ones at that?!

I did notice one of my friends had an exceptionally cool theme.  But alas, I am not worthy.  (read “I do not know how he did that.”)

I covet your patience during the awkward transition phase. :)

Readiness

September 28, 2008

One of the things I love about serving on the vocal team is rehearsal.  Sounds funny maybe.  But I’m quite serious about it.  It’s a blast.  It’s an honor.  It’s a discipline.

Move Me

September 28, 2008

I am singing “Move Me” this weekend @ GCC.  Every time I sing it affects me.  The song, no matter what it has been, has always connected with some part of my heart.  This one even more so.

Blog Migration

September 26, 2008

I am learning that nothing is really constant in this world but God.  Everything else changes.  Change can happen quickly, or over periods of time.  It can be forced upon us, we can choose it, or we can choose to do nothing and just let change happen.  But it will happen.

I’m also learning just how wordy i can be.  I love words.  I love writing.  And in this latest transition I have had to let go of a few things I like.  I have had to try to decide if my words are worth keeping and dragging along.

This is where I have landed.  Welcome to my new blog home.  Glad you came over. :D

Clearer Vision

September 24, 2008

Monday this week (yeah I know, it’s wednesday… I’ve been a little busy) the various teams from GCC that are going to Tamilnadu, India this December met with Raj. Raj is GCC’s Director of International Mission and is native to India. You should take 12 minutes right now, even if you don’t read this post, and watch his story here. After spending a few hours listening to him and Jack, I was humbled to be a part of such an extraordinary chapter. By the end of the evening, we had a much clearer understanding of some of the details pertaining to our December trip.

1 out of 400

September 23, 2008

I can’t believe this happened again. Good grief. What are the odds. I mean I have had a total life-change over this. I have given up my old habits. I have been reformed. I have… slowed down.

yeah you guessed it.

Fog

September 22, 2008

just how transparent should I be on my blog… hmmmm…

this post is personal. It’s poetic. It’s probably not for everyone.

But if you struggle with foggy days… maybe you can find a connection. And then follows the knowledge that you are not alone.

Dreams

September 21, 2008

(this is an expansion of the phone blog entry for today.)

My son Noah has an unstoppable mind. He turned 8 this fall and I am trying to get to the place where I don’t let it frustrate me, but I learn to coach it.

Lately, it’s been his imagination. We bought the movie “Fly Away Home” and he watched it. Over and over and over again. It’s a compelling story based on real life. While watching, he became fascinated with the Dad character in the movie who wore aluminum wings, ran down a hill, and flew around for 45 seconds or so.

We haven’t purchased any aluminum yet… but Noah is working hard on the concept by using some Styrofoam wings from a glider I bought him.
