Welcome back!!! I'll admit Twitter has changed my blogging practices as well. I'm looking to do more of it as well. I'm sure I'll have much to blog about after my personal retreat this weekend. I can't wait!

This also brings up so many references:
"Springs of living waters"
"Washed by the water of the Word"
Moses speaking/striking the rock
Ritual washings in Leviticus
Crossing the Red Sea & the Jordan
Baptism
Our Savior, washing feet

Water is a powerful metaphor, and used throughout to teach. Thanks for a reflection/reminder today!

Great insight, brother. I was completely wrapped up in that verse, re-thinking the word good and Christ's correction to attribute it with God alone. How simple and yet, we do catch ourselves claiming goodness for our kind acts, kind words, etc. Then ... i got completely distracted by the fact that you said you're 40 - seriously?!

Hi Don:

I ran across your blog by chance I suppose ... or maybe it was God's gentle nudging. I wanted to tell you that your "Mr. Perfect" really jumped out at me .... I too struggle with this, and am so grateful you took the time to shut him up, and get these words out here for us.

Thank you!

I love the honesty in this, Don. I think we all have a little bit of this guy living inside of us. It's amazing because we were created by God - his little works of art - so therefore anything we create was created, really, by God, and yet we have the audacity to feel like we can judge it to the N-th degree. Yet, I do it... and I forget to think of it this way.

I love your heart and am glad to be with you on the journey. Lym!

I've gone quite a few rounds with the "Mrs." and still trying for the knockout. Thanks for reminding me of the truth. Exactly what I needed heading into this next series and a new chapter God's calling me into. Thanks so much for blessing all of us with your words, your art, and your honesty.

Great post Don, kinda hits home. I grew up in a "perfect" household. I did not recognize that until I got married. I am a very fortunate man because "Mrs Imperfect" keeps me straight most of the time. Mr. Perfect also has a brother called "Mr. In Control". When these to get together it is stressful, for all.
