while I’m waiting
March 10, 2009
We are all waiting for something. Waiting for the weekend. Waiting for vacation. Waiting for a raise. Waiting for our call-back date.
Waiting to have kids. Waiting for them to go to school. Waiting for the kids to come home. Waiting for them to go back.
We’re waiting for the day to start. Waiting for the day to be over. Waiting for tomorrow.
We’re waiting for things to get easier. Waiting for things to go back to normal. Waiting for relief. Waiting for a break.
Waiting… waiting… waiting…
If we’re not careful, we can let waiting wear away at what should be permanent. A long season of waiting can carve away at our hearts until we end up with a grand canyon of the soul.

Honestly.
wink
November 4, 2008
Do you know anyone who winks? I do. I don’t think I have ever winked at anyone. But I have a few buddies who are wink-ers. Usually, just before I am about to do something that makes me incredibly nervous, (like singing in church), one of them will throw me a quick wink.
At a moment like that, a wink says to me “bring it.” It’s a little dose of encouragement. I am convinced they have no idea what that does inside me.
Do you want to know something? I believe God is winking at us.
I AM and i am not

Is the God of the Bible a person of ultimate precept, or problem of unevolved concept: supreme ruler and authority, or antiquated sentiment? Are we His creation, or He ours?
